Christie Group is
the Canadian distributor for Hologic Inc. who manufacturers a
quality range of equipment for the evaluation of osteoporosis,
as well as the Lorad brand of mammography products for the
detection of breast cancer.
Evaluation of Osteoporosis
Hologic introduced
the first dual energy bone densitometer (DXA) in 1987. Today,
Hologic continues the tradition with the Discovery™ QDR
(Quantitative Digital Radiography) series of bone densitometers with
IVA (Instant Vertebral Assessment), as well as the Sahara Bone
Sonometer ultrasound bone densitometer.
Detection of Breast Cancer
In 1984 Lorad halved
the typical radiation dose of a mammogram at that time with the
introduction of the first high frequency, inverter type,
constant-potential mammography generator. Currently, Lorad offers a
complete range of conventional (film) and digital mammography
systems.
M-IV Mammography System –
Conventional mammography system equipped with HTCTM (High
Transmission Cellular) grids for higher contrast.
StereoLoc II Upright Stereotactic System –
Upright breast biopsy system used in conjunction with an M-IV
Mammography system equipped with DSM (Digital Spot Mammography) for
higher throughput and image quality.
Multicare Prone Breast Biopsy System –
For breast biopsy in the prone position and for use with the DSM.
Selenia – Full Field Digital
Mammography (FFDM) system with Hologic’s 23x29cm flat panel detector
system, imaging processing and digital archive.
